Mission impossible?

Christian Garin is playing really well at the moment; he’s keeping his traits as a player with a heavy arm in important moments, especially when he’s leading against a clutch player like Zverev, which doesn’t inspire confidence. Zverev hasn’t played yet, this is his first match. I saw him in practice today, he impressed me because he was training against the Belgian Zizou Bergs. He was consistent in his game, which is in line with his start to the season, but it still surprises me to see him hit that hard. So I expect him to be very strong as well. The only risk is that, on clay in Monte Carlo, where the court is quite heavy and the Chilean is an excellent counter-puncher who feels most comfortable when the opponent is dictating the game, the German may run into difficulties. Sometimes this strategy, which is necessary for his development as a player, clashes with someone who is a good counter-puncher and in conditions that don’t favor such aggression, which brings some risks. I’m reminded of Zverev against Diallo at the Australian Open; he got caught out because he didn’t yet have the right instincts at the net or enough quality in his forward transitions. Therefore, betting on an over in games or on a handicap can be interesting if the odds are good, for example a +5.5 handicap, but given that the Chilean is not very clutch, there’s really no reason to bet on him to win.
