A revelation? Where? I’d rather say a confirmation

It just makes sense to see Blockx at the highest level, he’s totally got the level, the physique, the attitude, this guy is going to be very hard to beat this season. He’s a good grinder, he doesn’t hesitate to stand two meters behind the baseline and let his opponents play, then he counters intelligently. He’s just shut down Shapovalov and Cobolli, two players who completely lose the plot when their attacks don’t pay off quickly. I think that to reach another level he’ll need to do a bit more offensively, but on heavy clay he’s really solid at the back in defensive mode.

Against ADM he’ll have to adapt a bit because the Australian attacks more intelligently than the other clowns; he’s not powerful but he excels at taking the ball early and knows how to come to the net. His track record in Monte Carlo has been good over the last two years as well, he’s extremely hard to hit through and rarely disappoints.

He’s the favorite in this match but it’s not straightforward either; he needs to attack without overdoing it, but barring a disaster I don’t see him losing tomorrow. Blockx is really exploding right now but still seems a bit short against this caliber of player.
