Too much?
Vacherot is damn tough, but the sequence is really hard this time!
Three-hour match, night session, straight back at it tomorrow against ADM, it’s brutal… Hard to ignore all that before doing the analysis because Vacherot is going to have to find the energy to go back into battle, I’m a bit afraid his game will be too affected. He should play earlier though, which is good for his serve and his aggression because against Hubi it was unbelievably slow. He’s also built like a physical beast, he keeps saying it’s his number one weapon and he really is strong in that area, but he seemed to be struggling at the end of his match. Before facing ADM it seems too complicated…
Tough, yes, but the draw is still very, very nice for him, ADM isn’t Sinner/Alcaraz, Vacherot will have his chance, especially since the Australian doesn’t impress me that much. He’s still super solid and accurate in every area of the game, but it’s still nothing more than “fine” at the moment, that’s my feeling. Win today against Blockx 7/5 7/6 without giving the impression he was clearly dominating, he’s just better in the key moments and more experienced, that’s all. He always shows up in Monte Carlo and he’s proving it again, but the slowness of the courts makes it hard to hit through him.
Vacherot will have to rely on his serve and his net game if he wants to get a result, otherwise it could be too difficult. I think he still has enough energy and enough heart to deliver another big match.
