Borges was starting to cramp against Etcheverry and we know Medjedovic too

Finally a win against a good player for Borges; for confidence it’s good to beat a clay-courter like Etcheverry, but the level still wasn’t phenomenal. He wants to play his aggressive tennis no matter what, and Etcheverry let him do it; not sure that’ll be the case with Medjedovic. Even if the Serb is a good grinder, he’s got a much more impactful firepower and above all he can follow up well after his serve.

For once he actually played a really good match against ADM, but again the opposition just wasn’t there; ADM is only a shadow of himself right now. Medje still had a dip at the start of the second set, I think he was close to throwing it away and it could’ve been 6–1 ADM in 15 minutes, but he came back well. That’s his whole issue: he plays some exceptional sets and then suddenly nothing at all, total blackout. Knowing Borges’ resilience, I think the Portuguese can pull off a comeback, for example. If we talk only about the game/matchup, I give a big edge to Medjedovic on clay, where he’s a top player riding a huge wave of confidence.

I’m really tempted to go for an over on games, but if Medje is too strong and keeps his level over both sets I wouldn’t be surprised either; he’s in good form and Borges isn’t all that scary.
