Family flip?

An aggressive style for both players. A good level on clay despite their style. Two hard-court players. Very decent form at the moment. A match between the two players in a Davis Cup tie that ends in a deciding tie-break. On paper, then, there isn’t much that separates today’s two opponents. With yet another factor: only two ranking spots separate them. Can the conditions in Madrid favor one type of game over the other? I’m thinking about Ethan Quinn’s serving quality and aggressiveness. When he faces a good defender, he struggles a bit on this surface. But with the altitude and Fabian’s style of play, the conditions will be quite favorable for him. In his first appearance here last year, he had a nice little run with three wins, including two against clay-court players. He’s a profile I consider dangerous, who is not bad on clay. He’s one of the less bad Americans on this surface, in my opinion. And for him, the conditions are favorable. As for the Hungarian, I don’t find him very clutch at the moment. And that might matter in a match that could be decided by just a few points between very similar players.
