Is Norrie pulling off the upset?

The Brit has already really annoyed Alcaraz in the past but has never faced Sinner; can he bother him too?

Instinctively I want to say yes because he’s going to be super relaxed, but he’s the kind of guy who really believes even when there’s a big gun on the other side of the net. He’s an exceptional competitor and even if he takes 6–0, I can assure you that on the first point of the second set he’ll clench his fist and fire himself up. With that kind of mentality it’s tempting, but the reality is that in terms of pure tennis he’s likely to get shut down properly. There’s no official match we can rely on, but Norrie says that in practice he gets destroyed by Sinner. At the same time, Sinner’s backhand is one of the best in the world, so Norrie’s lefty game probably doesn’t bother him that much, and in the rest of the game he just does everything better anyway. The only thing is to figure out which version of Sinner we’re going to get.

For now I wouldn’t say the Italian is untouchable. His first round was far from perfect and the second round was way too easy to really judge him. He only wins 6–2 6–3, a clean score, but Norrie is much stronger than Moller. The Brit is playing really well again this week and in these conditions he gains power and puts a lot of height on his forehand, which makes him tricky to move around. Once again we’re left with the question of whether we want to take a handicap/over against Sinner. I’d say yes, since he’s not at his absolute best yet and Norrie is a competitor, which could help him fight for games.
