As usual with Shevchenko…
The Kazakh has just given us one of those matches only he can produce, beating the Argentine Carabelli in an epic battle with an incredible atmosphere. That’s a factor that really has to be taken into account when analyzing any match involving him. I don’t know the schedule yet, but if he plays on a small court with a whole group of Italians ready to support him, he could give us a masterclass in realism and fighting spirit. Because he wins his match against Carabelli by being the one who goes out and wins the points. That said, the Argentine was far from playing his best tennis. And the Russian is gradually getting back to his level. I don’t think he’ll make the same mistakes as the Argentine. And to be honest, I see him winning this match seven times out of ten, with at least one very tight set.
