Tiafoe gets caught out by a local again?

Dedura is being talked about as a future very good player and is progressing at his own pace without really breaking through for the moment. Is he capable of giving Tiafoe some trouble?

Tiafoe was reassuring in his comeback tournament in Rome, after skipping Madrid for a back “injury”, which apparently wasn’t serious at all and more of an excuse, because he played really well in Rome and also wanted to take the time to come back properly. His goal is to be in great shape for Roland-Garros and, given the level he already showed in Rome, I’m pretty convinced.

He played an excellent match against Buse and then lost to Pellegrino in a high-level match.

No real reason to want to lay Tiafoe. Maybe it’s on his opponent’s side that we might want to do something? As for me, I’m still in discovery mode with Dedura. I haven’t seen him play a lot and I don’t have as good a handle on him as I’d hoped. I don’t really know what his limits are or what his true ceiling is. When I watch him play, I don’t get the feeling I’m seeing a guy who can suddenly break through and jump into the top 100 just like that. I think he’s going to be good, but that he needs time.

I see a clear gap in level between these two players. I don’t know Dedura well enough to state clearly that he can do something special tomorrow.
