Wu let the dogs out ?
Should we watch out for Wu, whom everyone underestimates?
The Chinese guy put in a really solid performance against Giron. We know this guy has fire in his arm. A sort of Basilashvili type. But what happens to a hitter of that caliber when he faces a true clay-courter? He might take a set, with slightly better chances that it’s the first one, but not more than that. Why? First, because I thought Cobolli looked in great shape. He just dropped his intensity a bit when it came to closing it out, but against a buddy, I don’t hold it against him. Not only does he counter/defend brilliantly (believe me, Pellegrino hits just as hard as Wu on the forehand), but above all, he puts more shape/height on his shots. On top of that, I trust Cobolli’s physical condition in a Grand Slam format more than Bu’s, and it’s pretty clear that’s a major factor these days. So my choice is pretty clear here, I’m not going to go on and on about it…
