The Return of the Queen

Barbora Krejčíková sets down her bags in Rosmalen with the 2024 Wimbledon title in one hand and five months of a thigh injury in the other. Her only match since February, a three-set loss to Hailey Baptiste at Roland-Garros on a surface that isn’t her favorite, wasn’t enough to dent the reputation of someone who remains one of the most dangerous players on tour on grass. The Rosmalen grass, fast and low-bouncing, is exactly the kind of court where her varied game, her ability to come forward to the net, and her tactical awareness do the most damage. Renata Zarazúa is a solid, consistent player, whose 2026 record of 8–7 reflects an honest season but without any particular sparkle on grass, a surface on which the Mexican has never really shone at WTA Tour level.

On paper, this match holds no suspense. In reality, five months without serious competition and a recent muscle injury introduce an unknown that the market resolves by pricing Krejčíková at 1.16, or an implied probability of 86%. That’s the price of reputation, not necessarily the price of certainty.
