I’d be blown away, like you, I think, if Diallo came here and established himself...
Used by the women’s tournament the previous week, the Queen’s courts have slowed down. Diallo managed to make Mannarino play badly last week, but he was still missing a little something. And against an ADM who’s now rolling, super mobile, and who has the advantage of being able to play more aggressively than Manna, it’s a whole different level. The Canadian can always pull out a purple match, he does it every year, but that wouldn’t really fit the way his season is trending, in my opinion. He’s coming off quite a few injuries and is looking to rebuild his confidence. Whereas ADM has got some back by making the final last week (still not at full throttle, he hit a double fault on match point in the deciding tie-break, but anyway).
Matchup, current form, and quality of grass-court play all in ADM’s favor.
