7/6 6/7 7/6 ?
Yes, but for whom?
A classic kind of match for Marcos, who went over their last two meetings and still hasn’t been wrong. Basically, he says Medje is the better overall player, but that depending on the form of the two players, Rinder could very well use his craftiness in the short rallies to get the better of the Serb. That’s what he did in their last match, with Medje not quite at 100% physically (he retired in the second set, by the way). What about today?
Rinder’s in decent form; I thought he looked fine against Manna last week. On slightly slower grass, I like his profile. The serve is dialed in, and so are his forehand accelerations. Manna made him hit a ton of backhands, and he held up well.
On Medje’s side, it’s a bit of a guessing game. Since he turned pro, whenever he gets on grass, it’s nothing special. He only plays two or three tournaments at most; you get the feeling it really annoys him. It’s also a little bit hot in London, but nothing compared to Roland. So I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few inaccuracies in his tennis today...
