(a)Buse !
3.68 for the Peruvian, that still seems huge to me, no?
Sure, Buse doesn’t have the American’s experience on grass. But nobody expected him to beat the tricky Giron either! His clay-court style of play didn’t shock me at all, because he’s powerful and learns fast. There were quite a few ups and downs in that match but well, you can’t ask him to be perfect either. Anyway, just based on his tennis and resilience, I wouldn’t put him at 3.68 against a guy who’s also just played his first match on grass this season.
So yes, Nakashima, just on his service games alone, is very good. But the American took advantage of a diminished Fucsovics and didn’t really get to use his first-round match to fully find his footing on the surface. He’s also coming off a clay-court season, and even overall, a season that’s not really at his level, and he’s still looking for confidence to get back to his best tennis.
In the match-up, I think Buse can unsettle him. The Peruvian is the one who creates the most for me. And so, despite Buse’s inexperience on grass, I don’t see him getting blown off the court!
