An expensive mistake?
While he was leading 5–1 in the first set, Manna completely lost focus and got himself into a long, tough match against Mensik!
2h41 of battle, and Manna isn’t exactly young anymore. And he’s backing it up with Hertogenbosch, a tournament where he went all the way to the semis with some pretty hard-fought matches too. That said, he’s a guy who’s super well prepared physically, and the Queen’s courts are a bit faster and skiddier than the ones in Herto. That’s really good for him, with his trajectories (especially on the backhand side, and it really pissed Mensik off) and his lack of power. I actually think he’s even more impactful than in Herto, personally!
On the other side of the net, a small build, super agile and mobile, who knows how to take the ball really early. Arthur Fery is solid. He’s not going to get caught out by low balls, and he’ll counter Manna well. If he’s in form, which he has been for the last 10 days, he’ll also play aggressively and take the ball early. Honestly, not an easy match-up for the Frenchman. Fery does make more errors than him though, he’s a bit less solid from the baseline in my opinion. But yeah, when you look at Manna’s match-up against De Minaur, that’s what scares me.
