And yes, Foki pulled it off for the 4th time in a row in 2 sets. But that last match in Hamburg was misleading: 13 break points saved out of 13 for the Spaniard, and super aggressive play so he wouldn’t get bogged down, and also because he was coming back from injury and didn’t have the physical engine.

Today, we’re on grass, Foki is better physically, and mentally too. He produced a monstrous match in his R1. If he plays like that again, that’s easily top‑10 level. Worst case, his attitude is solid anyway, so even on an off day, I trust him to fight.

On the other side, Coco finally wins a match. He beats Mpetshi over 2 days, and that’s a nice performance for him at the moment. However, it’s a completely different match‑up waiting for him today, and he’ll have a bit more trouble hiding his weaknesses on the backhand side. He’d need to be really sharp and throw a wrench into Foki’s gears. That’s possible, because the Spaniard has only been playing this well again for one or two matches. But I trust that he’s starting on a good upward slope.
