Nice first round!

We’ve got two players here who can really play well on grass, but who haven’t yet achieved results that match their potential level.

Let’s start with the Canadian. Looking for confidence, he really wasn’t far from beating a Mannarino at the start of his grass swing, and an FAA who wasn’t exactly full of confidence. With his quality of serve, he can play at a hell of a level on grass. But on the other hand, you have to stay low all the time, and he doesn’t excel in the small game and at the net.

On Térence’s side, I have to say I preferred his level against Medvedev in Halle. Beating Landaluce is already really good, even if the Spaniard doesn’t have much experience on the surface. So in terms of pure current level, he’s ahead for me.

But a lot of things could come down to the match‑up between these two profiles. Both know how to play in disruption (meaning: hitting nice accelerations from the baseline), and both can dig in and absorb pressure. I prefer the explosiveness, the angles, the touch and even the shot variety of the Frenchman. Diallo can be ruthlessly effective with his pure attacking game, and that can really bother Atmane. But I feel the Frenchman has stepped up since the clay season, and is confirming his consistency at a high level on grass. If his odds are too high, I’d therefore recommend his ML.
