A miracle!

Marozsan saved several match points against Molcan and now faces another left-hander.

Well, that sure wasn’t vintage Marozsan again, the Hungarian scraped through by the skin of his teeth and frankly deserved to lose. He’s usually not a clutch guy at all but this time he was. You can also say Molcan helped him a lot, especially with a beautiful double fault to hand him the match at 6/5 in the deciding tie-break. Still not convinced by Marozsan, I’m laying him at the moment and I feel like I’m right to do so. He’s not very good on grass, his movement is awful and the match-up was still relatively decent for him, tomorrow it could be a whole different story.

Tabilo is a slightly more aggressive version of Molcan, another lefty but more offensive. Not exceptional on grass but not bad either, he just got blown away by Hijikata last week in his opening match and there was really no contest, he ran into a stronger player. Hijikata made him play enough and with the confidence he has right now, everything was going in as well. A loss that doesn’t worry me too much for Tabilo, and this week I’m expecting a good level from him; we know his ability to be very good in the tournaments that come right before the Grand Slams, once he’s into his tournament he’s simply capable of going all the way and winning it.

First time they’re facing each other and I like Tabilo’s aggressiveness on his service games, as well as his ability to hang in there and tighten up his game from the baseline too. That mix seems particularly effective against a Marozsan who in any case is not at his best level.
