Here we are, we made it.
This tournament is important for both players to get their confidence back. They did the job. Time for the battle!
I’ll start with Jack Draper, who has clearly ramped up since the start of this tournament. He’s even scary, in a good way, and finds himself as a strong favorite to win it. He’s gained confidence in his shots, hits harder, keeps his level throughout the whole match… It’s hard to picture him losing here. That said, his comeback is still very recent, so we’ll have to see if Ugo manages to push him to his limits.
On Ugo’s side, he’s also raising his level. I’ll be brief: I don’t like the match-up against Draper for him. Draper is left-handed to begin with, and he covers the court really well. Adding his overall quality of play, he’ll do a much better job than Quentin Halys at neutralizing Ugo’s hyper-aggressiveness.
Only one scenario for a huge battle: Ugo in machine mode. When he gets to the end of a tournament and faces big fish, he’s capable of transforming, no matter the match-up.
