Two retirements in the semifinals, an unexpected final. Tatjana Maria, 38 years old and ranked 112th in the world, took advantage of Ostapenko’s heatstroke to join Keys in the final. She creates more break chances and wins more return games. Keys makes up for it with an almost impenetrable serve this week (91.5% of service games held) and an astronomical Breakpoints Prevail. But in the pressure moments, it’s Maria who holds up better.
