Jacquet repaired?
The Frenchman didn't even know if he was going to play Roland Garros, and now here he is, ready to face Bublik in R2 at Wim!
Jacquet on grass is really good. It’s his best surface for me. He’s comfortable, and you can see it. Small, mobile build, ready to take ground whenever he can...
On the other side, I saw a Bublik who was still a bit generous. But hats off to Kokkinakis too. The Kazakh is less in super-serious pro player mode, and you can feel there’s something to be done. But we’ll see in terms of match‑up...
What Bublik doesn’t like too much are extreme profiles: De Minaur on one side, Struff on the other. And Jacquet has quite a few similarities with De Minaur, all the same. Of course the cards are in the Kazakh’s hands. Just with his quality of serve, he can win 95% of his service games. But I find Wimbledon’s grass slow enough, and our Kazakh vulnerable enough to leave room for a Jacquet who’s on fire on this surface.
