The real test
Hubbie and Paul are finally going to be able to really gauge their true level in this competition (without wanting to knock their previous opponents ;)).
We already have one clear data point: both of them serve bombs. For Hubbie, that’s nothing new. For Paul, he admitted he played an insane serving match against Kwon. He’s going to come in with great confidence in that area. So I’m already looking at the overs line, and we’ve got +39.5 games at 1.81, and I like that.
3–3 in their head-to-head, none on grass, and Paul has won the more recent ones.
Then, two very good grass-court players of course. Hubbie because he serves bombs, is sharp at the net, and defends well from the baseline despite his height. Paul because he’s a very complete player. And, lately, two players who are struggling to maintain their intensity.
In terms of match-up, I’d say it depends on the strategy that’s put in place. Both players are capable of dialing their level of aggressiveness up or down, and I don’t have enough knowledge to estimate who’s going to do more of what here.
