Lehecka on Fire?

Is the Czech going a bit under the radar here?

Well, it was a really impressive performance against Molcan. I found him effective everywhere... on serve, return, from the baseline, and also pushing toward the net. He managed to completely suffocate Molcan with relentless intensity and aggression. It was a shock loss in straight-sets to Carreno-Busta in RG (which doesn't look as bad in hindsight, at least) and then perhaps not the most impressive buildup grass preparation. However, I have great feelings so far about Lehecka, even if he has not faced very tough opponents yet. Munar is another player who has impressed me and is yet to lose a set! Even though he has changed his serve for a while now, it's still really strange to see him serve 210+ km/h first serve bombs over and over. Apart from the serve, his volleys are so good! It was a somewhat competitive match against Fearnley, but as usual, the Brit completely blew it in the key moments - either with a forehand unforced at the bottom of the net or a double fault!

Lehecka and Munar have faced each other three times before, but we can't really use the H2H. Lehecka was in absolute dire form for their Davis Cup meeting at the end of last year when Munar won... and the other two meetings were in 2024, which was the year before Munar made all his offensive changes. Munar is a clever returner, and Lehecka is someone who relies on his serve a lot. Jiri should be able to handle Munar's first serve decently; he tends to do quite well against players who serve big, mainly with pace more so than placement. Munar's second serve is still quite vulnerable, and Lehecka's aggressive game can prevent Munar from taking the initiative, as he was able to do against both Cerundolo and Fearnley quite often. Playing on grass should be an advantage for Lehecka, who has a more natural game for it, even if the Spaniard has adjusted his game really well...
