Is there any hope for Mochizuki?

Well, it doesn't look very likely, does it....

It's about to be match number 7 for Shintaro, after coming through qualification. A complete demolition of a British qualifier in the first round and then two good wins against big hitters Quinn and Jodar, dropping just a single set. Mochizuki is really such a pain to play on grass, having a really high tennis IQ and very flat strokes, combined with constant net rushing! His serve is one of the weakest on tour, but he has managed it well so far, given how dominant he has been in rallies and on return. Quinn and Jodar both prefer rhythm and were absolutely denied, also showing their inexperience as young players. It has to be said that Mochizuki did look pretty labored at the end of the win against Jodar, but hey - at least he had a day's break and is playing the last match of the day!

As for Sinner, there is still the feeling that he is not at his best yet, like he has not been for the entire tournament. Sure, he won against Brooksby in straight sets, but that's a good matchup for him, really being able to pounce on Brooksby's serve. There are still more "random" unforced errors from Sinner than we are used to seeing. Mochizuki's weak serve will most likely get absolutely destroyed by Sinner here, while the Japanese might struggle to get into Jannik's serve games... he's such an efficient spot server now. Without exaggerating any possible fatigue angle, there is also the huge issue of Mochizuki's game falling apart right away without energy - he lacks big weapons, so it's a lot of intensity and fighting. Well, it's not exactly news that we are expecting a dominant Sinner win here. Do we expect it to be big enough for us to potentially have some value on his side? Let's check...
