Everyone is getting hyped!
It's pretty crazy to see how Tsitsipas can so quickly become appreciated again by the market.
Against Buse, the Greek quickly became the favorite even though there hadn’t even been a break yet. At the same time he started strong and everyone felt it wasn’t the kind of match that was in Buse’s racket; in the end Stefanos played a great match and, despite giving up a break in the second set, his match is pretty much perfect. Great attitude and a good post‑match interview, I get why people are getting excited. Now he’s at 1.37 against a potentially dangerous local player..
Kym is held back a bit too much by injuries, but when he can string matches together he’s a real trap to face, he hits hard and plays fast, he can take the racket right out of your hands and be the one who dictates the match. He’s just come off a huge win against another local college player and that kind of victory can really help for what’s next; it’s much easier to play Tsitsipas afterwards with zero pressure and feeling nice and loose.
That’s pretty much the only thing that scares me, because otherwise, in terms of level of play and maximum potential, it’s obviously Tsitsipas we want to back this week and tomorrow!
