Merida for president!

What a match for the Spaniard, who feels so comfortable on hard courts. But be careful not to just let himself be carried along too much either. Michelsen has some great counterpunching weapons, and he knows how to keep the ball in the court while mixing it up with his forward-moving game. Merida, for his part, is a baseliner who hurts from the back of the court, really hurts. He strings his shots together very well, and is starting to reach a seriously underrated level. He’s just won his first ATP tournament in style, and finds himself here with little pressure, in a third round of a Masters 1000.

I just have one match-up problem with Michelsen. The American is also in good form and has just won a tournament. He was one point away from beating Fritz in Washington, and he’s just beaten Cerundolo F, another player with a similar style to Merida.
