Here we are with two players looking to find their best level.

Moutet has given us quite a few poor matches, notably because of his weakness on the backhand side and game patterns that repeat way too much. Recently in Montreal, it was better. But in the end, how many points are really won thanks to his super intelligent tennis? Not that many for me. So, he’s dangerous, but for me it depends a lot on the match‑up.

As for Hurkacz, he treated us to another good choke against VDZ in Montreal. Tennis-wise he’s solid, but mentally, there’s work to be done.

On the other hand, I think his game is quite annoying for Moutet. First, we’re on a fast surface with a low bounce. A lot of balls played at hip height, and a serve that really matters. Corentin will have to fight much harder on his service games. The other point is that Hubie is super solid from the baseline. Moutet will struggle to hit through him. Yes, there is a scenario where he annoys him by coming forward a lot, because Hubie isn’t the best in the forecourt. But overall, the Pole is ahead in many stats, and in the end, that’s often what you have to rely on...
