Does Rinky have what it takes?

The kind of player who serves as a level benchmark, Rinky plays a pretty pure, complete brand of tennis, with his structural limits. Sometimes he has flashes of brilliance, especially on grass, and also on hard (IW this year). In Cincy, I didn’t feel the on-fire Rinky from Indian Wells. He’s good, but not exceptional either. He’s beating players who aren’t in great form. But they still had to be beaten!

So Mensik shouldn’t show up with his hands in his pockets. But I think he has the motivation and the level he needs right now. Well, in terms of level, he’s not at his prime. He struggles against guys who’ve played a very good match, like Fearnley in Montréal and Bellucci here. But he never gives up (okay, well, except against Shelton, but the American was so good that it would’ve discouraged more than a few).

And in terms of match-up, with Hijika being rather aggressive, things are looking good for Jakub...
