The plague or cholera?

I'm obviously joking because I quite like both of these players, but in their own way, they really don't make you want to bet on them at the moment.

This is a match with quite a lot of uncertainty ahead. I’ll try to be fairly concise because there are plenty of doubts. I’ll start with Comesana, who is at least physically healthy but is having a disastrous season in terms of results, with very few standout matches to speak of. I remember that at the start of the year, he was playing pretty well at times but was systematically losing. Then he went through a period where he was just not playing well at all. He’s popping up again at the moment and I really didn’t like what I saw, especially against Nishikori recently. After that, he lost in the first round to Llamas Ruiz in a Challenger. Suffice it to say, the Argentinian is not in good form and seeing him win a match would be more of a gut feeling than anything else, because you really want to stay away from him.

The doubts aren’t about Wu’s level, but rather about his physical condition, because the Chinese player is often injured. He has managed to string some matches together this year, but he just withdrew from a Challenger in Cancun, having not played since Cincinnati. I don’t know the reason for his withdrawal. Maybe it was nothing, but with him, we need to take this kind of information seriously because, as we know, he can play one set and then retire again, or even not show up at all. That’s what really bothers me.

Obviously, without the injury issue, I’d be on his side. Even if he’s struggling a bit this season, he still maintains a very good level of play and has the advantage of the surface. Without the injury, I rate him well above Comesana.
