Who has the advantage between Bonzi and Halys?

It looks like Halys has the head-to-head advantage with already five wins and only two losses against Bonzi. Is that surprising? I'd say not at all, because he's the more consistent of the two, both in terms of serve and also mentally and in terms of fighting spirit, in my opinion. Even if of course Bonzi can reach great heights with his tennis a few times during the year, with a huge maximum potential, whereas for me Halys sometimes finds himself a bit stuck.

The current momentum is completely on Halys’ side: he’s chaining good results and just pushed De Minaur in Cincinnati in a match he could have won. His mix of aggression on serve, with a huge serving quality, and his solidity from the baseline is really super effective. On top of that, he’s full of confidence right now. He isn’t doubting and feels very strong. As I said, he’s also a player with a great mindset. I had already seen it during the qualifying rounds in Cincinnati, where he got through a real banana-skin first round while not playing his best tennis and seeming a bit tired, or at least not at his peak. He got through it almost solely thanks to his good attitude.

The results aren’t as sparkling for Bonzi at the moment, but he’s fighting and has just won his first round against Majchrzak in a match that was overall fairly low level. The Frenchman played well at times, but he also served very poorly and took advantage of a Majchrzak who was tilted and completely lacking confidence right now. It’s not at all the same kind of opposition waiting for Bonzi in this second round, whether in terms of mentality or style of play.
