The VDZ tournament?

The Dutchman really calmed down the fiery Vallejo. Now it’s a step up, with a Darderi who grinds aggressively from the baseline for hours. And here, we’re a bit less in a pattern where VDZ counterpunches, and more in one where VDZ builds his points. Because Darderi imposes his clay-courter’s game on hard. He attacks with loopy, heavy trajectories, and he’s ready for a battle that can last for hours.

I’d also like to point out that we’re dealing with two players who are a bit hot-tempered. I find Darderi better in that regard here, but in the previous tournament he acted up again. And VDZ, you know him as well as I do.
