New tragedy?
Jack Kennedy has nothing to do with the Kennedy family. That’ll be my first point ;).
He’s an 18-year-old player from not far from New York (a real local), who won the USTA Boys this year and therefore got a wild card for the US Open. He’s had some nice results, like a win over Nishikori. But unfortunately for him today, I think, he’s an aggressive baseline player who takes control of the rallies with his forehand (video of one of his matches: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qt8BgQ0dQ68). And that’s exactly the type Lloyd Harris has just dealt with twice in Rocha and Llamas Ruiz, and those guys are stronger than Kennedy. Why? Because, even though I think Lloyd Harris has lost a bit of his effectiveness on serve, he’s so solid from the baseline. He misses very little, and he puts pressure on you as soon as you slip up, coming forward to the net. Really not a cool match-up for young Kennedy, in my opinion...
